About & Submission Guidelines

The Battlefield Forge is a blog site for tournament reports from judges all around the world. Tournament reports are great tools for sharing insights and experience and also to get feedback!

We are interested in tournament reports of all sorts, not just REL Competitive, so feel free to write any tournament reports and send it to us!

Submission Guidelines

A good tournament report could include:

  • Date
  • Location
  • Type of tournament (GP, PTQ, FNM, etc)
  • Number of players and number of judges
  • A photo or two (or more!) (if possible)
  • Issues that popped up and how you dealt with them (if any)
  • Interesting rulings or scenarios that you give the reader a chance to think about what would they do before telling us what you did
  • Suggestions on how to improve the reader’s future tournament experiences based on your experience in this tournament
  • Less is More. There’s no need to include every routine detail of the event, focus on the guidelines
Joshua Feingold wrote an amazing article about what makes an amazing report, do read it!

Please contact QJ Wong or Ron Thompson if you have any questions!
