What happens if Phenax stops being a creature after you activate it.

Mere mortals pale in comparison to Gods. Among the most deceptive of these, is Phenax, God of Deception! Phenax changes the way that we destroy our adversaries. He strives to make an opposing mage lose to a lack of library.

Let’s say you have a pair of Nightveil Specters alongside the mighty Phenax. You activate his ability, but before it resolves, one of your Specters dies. Phenax stops being a creature while his ability is still on the stack. Though it may seem like nothing important has happened, there is a lot more going on than meets the eye. Phenax’s ability goes to resolve and checks his toughness. Because he is not a creature, he has no power or toughness. This leads to quite the predicament. In fact, Phenax’s ability will resolve, but it will make your opponent mill 0 cards, leading to nothing more than an awkward stare. Only then will you realize that you too have been deceived by the God of Deception.
