Those cards are explained here!<\/p>\n<p>If you\u2019re playing\u00a0a 2HG prerelease\u00a0you should\u00a0also check out the\u00a02HG Hidden Gems\u00a0that highlights\u00a0which cards to look out for.\u00a0For further reading, if you want to know more about 2HG see the\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/blogs.magicjudges.org\/2hg\/faq\/\">2HG FAQ<\/a>.\u00a0If you want to know more about how these cards function in general see the\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/magic.wizards.com\/en\/articles\/archive\/feature\/war-spark-release-notes-2019-04-19\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">regular release notes<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p><strong>You<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The golden rule for 2HG is\u00a0<strong><em>\u201cYou\u201d\u00a0<\/em>still refers to you alone, not both you and your teammate.\u00a0<\/strong>Look for the word \u201c<em>you<\/em>\u201d in the card text, such as \u201c<i>put a +1\/+1 counter on an Army you control<\/i>\u201d, etc.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-1591\" src=\"http:\/\/blogs.magicjudges.org\/2hg\/files\/2019\/04\/vizierofthescorpion.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"265\" height=\"370\" \/><\/p>\n<p><strong>Opponent<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-1544\" src=\"http:\/\/blogs.magicjudges.org\/2hg\/files\/2019\/04\/dovinhandofcontrol1.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"265\" height=\"370\" \/> \u00a0<img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-1540\" src=\"http:\/\/blogs.magicjudges.org\/2hg\/files\/2019\/04\/bondofdiscipline.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"265\" height=\"370\" \/><\/p>\n<p>There are several ways cards refer to opponents in War of the Spark.<br \/>\nWe have &#8216;Your Opponents&#8217;&#8230;.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-1559\" src=\"http:\/\/blogs.magicjudges.org\/2hg\/files\/2019\/04\/narsetparterofveils1.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"265\" height=\"370\" \/><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-1570\" src=\"http:\/\/blogs.magicjudges.org\/2hg\/files\/2019\/04\/teferitimeraveler1.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"265\" height=\"370\" \/><\/p>\n<p>&#8230;or &#8216;Each Opponent&#8217;. Both\u00a0of these will affect both players on the opposing team.<\/p>\n<p><strong>An Opponent\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-1602\" src=\"http:\/\/blogs.magicjudges.org\/2hg\/files\/2019\/04\/oathofkaya1.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"265\" height=\"370\" \/><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-1562\" src=\"http:\/\/blogs.magicjudges.org\/2hg\/files\/2019\/04\/obnixilisthehatetwisted1.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"265\" height=\"370\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Card that say &#8216;an opponent&#8217; can affect each opponent separately or at the same time.<br \/>\nFor example, if both of your opponents attack a planeswalker you control Oath of Kaya will deal 2 damage to each of them and you will gain 4 life. If only one of your opponent&#8217;s is attacking a planeswalker you control, Oath of Kaya will deal 2 damage to that player and you will gain 2 life.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Each and damage<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Cards that deal damage to each opponent will effectively double the damage.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-1539\" src=\"http:\/\/blogs.magicjudges.org\/2hg\/files\/2019\/04\/bolasscitadel1.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"265\" height=\"370\" \/><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-1575\" src=\"http:\/\/blogs.magicjudges.org\/2hg\/files\/2019\/04\/turret-ogre.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"265\" height=\"370\" \/><\/p>\n<p>So for example, Bolas&#8217;s Citadel makes the opposing team lose 20 life and Turret Ogre will deal 4 damage to the opposing team.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Tezzeret. Master of the Bridge<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-1594\" src=\"http:\/\/blogs.magicjudges.org\/2hg\/files\/2019\/04\/tezzeretmasterofthebridge1.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"265\" height=\"370\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Tezzeret, Master of the Bridge will deal twice X to the opposing team, but you still only gain X life.<\/p>\n<p><strong>The Wanderer<br \/>\n<\/strong><br \/>\n<img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-1603\" src=\"http:\/\/blogs.magicjudges.org\/2hg\/files\/2019\/04\/thewanderer1.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"265\" height=\"370\" \/><\/p>\n<p>When you control The Wanderer and a card that deals damage to you and your teammate (like the previously mentioned Turret Ogre for exmaple) the damage done to you will be prevented. Your teammate will still receive the damage.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Each Player<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-1541\" src=\"http:\/\/blogs.magicjudges.org\/2hg\/files\/2019\/04\/bondofinsight.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"265\" height=\"370\" \/><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-1553\" src=\"http:\/\/blogs.magicjudges.org\/2hg\/files\/2019\/04\/lilianadreadhordegeneral1.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"265\" height=\"370\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Cards that say &#8216;Each player&#8217; will affect all players in the game, so the opposing team and your own team.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Davriel, Rogue Shadowmage<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-1543\" src=\"http:\/\/blogs.magicjudges.org\/2hg\/files\/2019\/04\/davrielrogueshadowmage.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"265\" height=\"370\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Davriel&#8217;s first ability triggers for each opponent separately as appropriate during that player&#8217;s team&#8217;s upkeep. So if one of the players on the opposing team has one or fewer cards in hand, that players will receive 2 damage. If both players have 1 or fewer cards in hand, they both receive 2 damage for a total of 4, If they both have 2 or more cards in hand, the ability will not do anything.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Proliferate<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong> <img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-1595\" src=\"http:\/\/blogs.magicjudges.org\/2hg\/files\/2019\/04\/contentiousplan1.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"265\" height=\"370\" \/><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Proliferate can put counters on any permanent in the game and any player: that includes your teammate and their permanents.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Combat<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Attackers are declared as a team, but creatures attack one player or a planeswalker.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-1582\" src=\"http:\/\/blogs.magicjudges.org\/2hg\/files\/2019\/04\/raging-kronch-1.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"265\" height=\"370\" \/><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-1557\" src=\"http:\/\/blogs.magicjudges.org\/2hg\/files\/2019\/04\/makeshiftbattalion1.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"265\" height=\"370\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Raging Kronch and Makeshift Battalion will\u00a0 both count your teammate&#8217;s attacking creatures as well.<br \/>\nRaging Kronch can attack if your teammate has at least on attacking creature even if you don&#8217;t have any other.<br \/>\nMakeshift Battalion&#8217;s ability will trigger as long as there are two other creatures attacking, it doesn&#8217;t matter if you or your teammate controls those creatures.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Trusted Pegasus<br \/>\n<\/strong><br \/>\n<img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-1574\" src=\"http:\/\/blogs.magicjudges.org\/2hg\/files\/2019\/04\/trustedpegasus2.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"265\" height=\"370\" \/><\/p>\n<p>You can give one of your teammate&#8217;s creatures flying with Trusted Pegasus.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Sarkhan, the Masterless<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-1566\" src=\"http:\/\/blogs.magicjudges.org\/2hg\/files\/2019\/04\/sarkhanthemasterless1.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"265\" height=\"370\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Sarkhan the Masterless&#8217;s ability will only trigger when the opposing team is attacking you or a planeswalker you control. If the opposing team chooses to attack your teammate or a planeswalker they control with a creature, Sarkhan the Masterless will not deal damage to it.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Gideon&#8217;s Sacrifice<br \/>\n<\/strong><br \/>\n<img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-1546\" src=\"http:\/\/blogs.magicjudges.org\/2hg\/files\/2019\/04\/gideonssacrifice1.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"265\" height=\"370\" \/><\/p>\n<p>In Two-Headed Giant combat damage is dealt to the player a creature is attacking. This means that if a creature is declared to be attacking your teammate, you cannot use Gideon&#8217;s Sacrifice to redirect this damage to a creature or planeswalker you control. \u00a0If a player does not specify who a creature is attacking, the default is that their creatures are attacking the opponent directly in front of them.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Lifegain<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong> <img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-1583\" src=\"http:\/\/blogs.magicjudges.org\/2hg\/files\/2019\/04\/ajanispridemate2-1.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"265\" height=\"370\" \/><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-1545\" src=\"http:\/\/blogs.magicjudges.org\/2hg\/files\/2019\/04\/gideonscompany.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"265\" height=\"370\" \/><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>When your teammate gains life, it will not trigger your Ajani&#8217;s Pridemate or Gideon&#8217;s Company.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Target creature (you control)<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>There are 4 cards that put +1\/+1 counters on creatures when they enter the battlefield.<br \/>\nPollenbright Druid and Iron Bully, can target <em>any\u00a0<\/em>creature so you can use them to give your teammate&#8217;s creature a boost.<br \/>\nMerfolk Skydiver and Teyo&#8217;s Lightshield on the other hand\u00a0 can only target a creature\u00a0<em>you\u00a0<\/em>control.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-1596\" src=\"http:\/\/blogs.magicjudges.org\/2hg\/files\/2019\/04\/pollenbrightdruid1.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"265\" height=\"370\" \/><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-1599\" src=\"http:\/\/blogs.magicjudges.org\/2hg\/files\/2019\/04\/ironbully1.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"265\" height=\"370\" \/><\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-1598\" src=\"http:\/\/blogs.magicjudges.org\/2hg\/files\/2019\/04\/teyoslightshield.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"265\" height=\"370\" \/><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-1600\" src=\"http:\/\/blogs.magicjudges.org\/2hg\/files\/2019\/04\/merfolkskydiver.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"265\" height=\"370\" \/><\/p>\n<p><strong>Hexproof<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong> <img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-1579\" src=\"http:\/\/blogs.magicjudges.org\/2hg\/files\/2019\/04\/wardscalecrocodile1.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"265\" height=\"370\" \/><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>A creature with Hexproof, like Wardscale Crocodile, can be targeted by your teammate.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Jace, Wielder of Mysteries<br \/>\n<\/strong><br \/>\n<img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-1550\" src=\"http:\/\/blogs.magicjudges.org\/2hg\/files\/2019\/04\/jacewielderofmysteries1.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"265\" height=\"370\" \/><\/p>\n<p>If you win the game, your team wins the game.<br \/>\nIf you and your teammate both attempt to draw a card from an empty library at the same time, your team will win the game.<br \/>\nThis is because Jace creates a replacement effect, replacing you drawing from an empty library with winning the game. Your teammate drawing from an empty library will make them lose the game next time State Based Actions are checked, by which time your team will already have won the game thanks to Jace.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Role reversal<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-1564\" src=\"http:\/\/blogs.magicjudges.org\/2hg\/files\/2019\/04\/rolereversal1.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"265\" height=\"370\" \/><\/p>\n<p>You can exchange control with between any of the players in the game.
