The explanations assume you\u2019re already familiar with how these cards work in a normal\u00a0game. You can find the regular release notes\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/magic.wizards.com\/en\/articles\/archive\/feature\/shadows-over-innistrad-release-notes-2016-03-30\" target=\"_blank\">here<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>2HG has a few\u00a0quirks, mostly concerning the combat phase and life total changes, but the majority of\u00a0cards work as you\u2019d expect. The golden rule of 2HG\u00a0is:\u00a0<em>\u201cYou\u201d still refers to you alone, not both you and your teammate.<strong>\u00a0<\/strong><del><\/del><\/em>For example, abilities\u00a0that boost \u201ccreatures you control\u201d or abilities\u00a0that let &#8220;you&#8221; draw cards. See\u00a0the\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/blogs.magicjudges.org\/2hg\/faq\/\">2HG FAQ<\/a>\u00a0if you want to know more about the rules of the format.<\/p>\n<p>If you\u2019re going to play in a 2HG prerelease\u00a0you should\u00a0also check out the <a href=\"http:\/\/blogs.magicjudges.org\/2hg\/shadows-over-innistrad-2hg-hidden-gems\" target=\"_blank\">2HG Hidden Gems<\/a> that shows which cards to look out for.<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<p><strong>GENERAL NOTES<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Uncommon Delirium cycle<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>These cards are most likely to generate the most questions, both because there are five of them and they do not work like many would expect. In 2HG this means that they trigger twice in your opponents&#8217; shared upkeep, once for each opponent.<\/li>\n<li>Those triggers are tied to that specific opponent,\u00a0so if the card asks for a &#8220;target creature that player controls&#8221; the two triggers\u00a0have to target a creature from a different opponent. You can&#8217;t target one creature twice or two different creatures from the same opponent. The exception is <a href=\"https:\/\/blogs.magicjudges.org\/2hg\/wp-content\/plugins\/lems-mtg-helper\/lems-mtg-helper-cardfinder.php?find=Obsessive+Skinner&width=223&height=310\" class=\"jTip\" name=\"\">Obsessive Skinner<\/a>, the only one that doesn&#8217;t say &#8220;that player&#8221;, so with those triggers you can target the same creature twice.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<hr \/>\n<p><strong>Werewolves<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-534 alignnone\" src=\"http:\/\/blogs.magicjudges.org\/2hg\/files\/2016\/03\/en_znK4yZifxM.png\" alt=\"en_znK4yZifxM\" width=\"265\" height=\"370\" \/><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-533 alignnone\" src=\"http:\/\/blogs.magicjudges.org\/2hg\/files\/2016\/03\/en_AIxG1aeAjR.png\" alt=\"en_AIxG1aeAjR\" width=\"265\" height=\"370\" \/><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>The night side transform condition looks at each player individually, so it doesn&#8217;t trigger if both opponents play one spell each.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<hr \/>\n<p><strong>Saboteurs<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Saboteur is a nickname for creatures with an ability that triggers\u00a0when they deal (combat) damage to an opponent. Investigate puts a clue token on the battlefield under <em>your<\/em> control (even though it doesn&#8217;t mention that in the reminder text).<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<hr \/>\n<p><strong>CARD-SPECIFIC NOTES<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-531\" src=\"http:\/\/blogs.magicjudges.org\/2hg\/files\/2016\/03\/en_z2jDQKfloW.png\" alt=\"en_z2jDQKfloW\" width=\"265\" height=\"370\" \/><em>Asylum Visitor<\/em><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Like the uncommon Delirium cycle, this card will trigger twice, once for each player.<\/li>\n<li>If it&#8217;s your turn and both of you have no cards in hand, in which order\u00a0you resolve\u00a0the triggers is important. If you let the one checking\u00a0your teammate resolve first, you will have a card in your hand when the one checking you wants to resolve. If you want to draw 2 cards, resolve your own one first. If you don&#8217;t want to lose 2 life, resolve your teammate&#8217;s one first.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<hr \/>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-528\" src=\"http:\/\/blogs.magicjudges.org\/2hg\/files\/2016\/03\/en_O5dYcUsOnv.png\" alt=\"en_O5dYcUsOnv\" width=\"265\" height=\"370\" \/><\/p>\n<p><em>Fevered Visions<\/em><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Like the uncommon Delirium cycle, this card will trigger twice, once for each player.<\/li>\n<li>Both opponents count as &#8220;your opponent&#8221;, so the damage check is done on both.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<hr \/>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-530\" src=\"http:\/\/blogs.magicjudges.org\/2hg\/files\/2016\/03\/en_VjJgiwJnvK.png\" alt=\"en_VjJgiwJnvK\" width=\"265\" height=\"370\" \/><\/p>\n<p><em>Flameblade Angel<\/em><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Your opponents can decide which defending player to deal combat damage to in the combat damage step, so they can simply\u00a0always choose your teammate, meaning the &#8220;deals damage to you&#8221; part won&#8217;t be very relevant for combat damage in 2HG.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<hr \/>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-529\" src=\"http:\/\/blogs.magicjudges.org\/2hg\/files\/2016\/03\/en_Piq2ywQDCO.png\" alt=\"en_Piq2ywQDCO\" width=\"265\" height=\"370\" \/><\/p>\n<p><em>Goldnight Castigator<\/em><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Your opponents can decide which defending player to deal combat damage to in the combat damage step, so they can always choose you, meaning the &#8220;deal damage to you&#8221; part could\u00a0be very painful\u00a0in 2HG.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<hr \/>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-527\" src=\"http:\/\/blogs.magicjudges.org\/2hg\/files\/2016\/03\/en_lYCOLf1gCh.png\" alt=\"en_lYCOLf1gCh\" width=\"265\" height=\"370\" \/><\/p>\n<p><em>Jace, Unraveler of Secrets<\/em><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>The emblem looks at each opponent separately, so the first spell from each opponent will be countered each turn.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<hr \/>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-526\" src=\"http:\/\/blogs.magicjudges.org\/2hg\/files\/2016\/03\/en_FX085f3gH4.png\" alt=\"en_FX085f3gH4\" width=\"265\" height=\"370\" \/><\/p>\n<p><em>Ongoing Investigation<\/em><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>The first\u00a0ability triggers once\u00a0per\u00a0player you\u2019re dealing combat damage to, so this can trigger twice in 2HG.<\/li>\n<li>You do not choose\u00a0which opponent an\u00a0unblocked attacker deals combat damage to until the Combat Damage Step. This means it&#8217;s\u00a0undecided yet when the defending team chooses how to\u00a0block. So for example, if you have three attacking creatures and the defending team can block only one of them, you can later assign the combat damage of whichever two are unblocked to one opponent each\u00a0to get two triggers.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<hr \/>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-580\" src=\"http:\/\/blogs.magicjudges.org\/2hg\/files\/2016\/03\/en_u6V61QogYW.png\" alt=\"en_u6V61QogYW\" width=\"265\" height=\"370\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Sorin, Grim Nemesis<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>In 2HG your life total is equal to your team&#8217;s life total, so\u00a0the highest life total among all players is the highest life total among all teams.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<hr \/>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-525\" src=\"http:\/\/blogs.magicjudges.org\/2hg\/files\/2016\/03\/en_CMrxVczUb3.png\" alt=\"en_CMrxVczUb3\" width=\"265\" height=\"370\" \/><\/p>\n<p><em>Triskaidekaphobia<\/em><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>In 2HG your life total is the same as your team\u2019s life total\u00a0so a team with 13 life loses the game.<\/li>\n<li>There&#8217;s only one trigger,\u00a0not one for each player, so the check is done only once.
