The Anniversaries project launched almost exactly five years ago. We started by celebrating 10 year and 5 year anniversaries and we’ve added 15 year anniversaries along the way. In some years we’ll probably celebrate the first 20th judge anniversary. That’s pretty amazing to me: when I judged my first tournament back in 1999, I certainly didn’t expect to still be involved with the game over 15 years later.
However, this seems like the right time to hand over my responsibilities in this project to someone else. Ron Thompson has been helping me with the “technical” side of this project for a while now and filling in for me when I’ve been too busy with other judge program things or “real” life. I will stay involved in a support role, but the celebration of our arbitrary amounts of time together will continue under Ron’s leadership. Cheers!
