{"id":273,"date":"2017-03-28T04:17:48","date_gmt":"2017-03-28T04:17:48","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/blogs.magicjudges.org\/coordinators\/?p=273"},"modified":"2017-04-11T15:42:20","modified_gmt":"2017-04-11T15:42:20","slug":"from-the-pc-desk-march-2017-3","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blogs.magicjudges.org\/coordinators\/2017\/03\/28\/from-the-pc-desk-march-2017-3\/","title":{"rendered":"From the PC Desk, March 2017"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">If you are part of the arbitration program and you do not live under a rock you have heard\u3000<\/span><a href=\"http:\/\/magic.wizards.com\/en\/articles\/archive\/organized-play\/future-grand-prix-2018-and-beyond-2017-03-09\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">the recent<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> announcement of Wizards of the Coast on the exclusive management of ChannelFireball Events (CFBE) Grands Prix in 2018 and for the following years . Some arbitrators expressed their uncertainty and concerns about some aspects of the arbitration program under this new arrangement. We understand that changes can have this effect. This raises doubts and creates new risks but also gives rise to opportunities.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Some of these worries come from some of our most experienced and dedicated voices. These voices deserve to be heard. We listened attentively and will continue to listen as long as necessary. The objectives declared by CFBE and the objectives of the arbitration program (which we have never expressed, let us be honest) are not identical but have much in common.<br \/>\n<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The arbitration program is based on principles of service, integrity, community, respect and trust. These principles are part of every event we arbitrate and this will not change. This will not change, whether the event is managed by CFBE, any other organizer or a community of Magic players anywhere in the world.<br \/>\nCFBE also places great value on these qualities.<br \/>\n<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The arbitration program is constantly trying to create an environment that meets the needs of our players, our referees and (in the case of the Grand Prix) of CFBE as well.<br \/>\nCFBE also seeks to meet the needs of the players and has indicated the desire to continue to build a lasting relationship with the arbitration program.<br \/>\n<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Some of the most talented referees are part of the CFBE organization and they understand very well the functioning of the arbitration program, its needs, and the potential risks.<br \/>\n<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">This already makes a bundle of generalities. You need more specific actions from us to make this more feasible. Below are some key points that emerged during the meetings between level 3 referees and representatives of CFBE (held in Barcelona, \u200b\u200bNew Jersey and Shizuoka). Ils se sont aussi montr\u00e9s conscients qu\u2019ils ne pourront pas r\u00e9aliser cette attente avec un noyau d\u2019arbitres r\u00e9duit correspondant au mod\u00e8le de 2017.<br \/>\n<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Une autre crainte qui nous a \u00e9t\u00e9 communiqu\u00e9e de mani\u00e8re r\u00e9p\u00e9t\u00e9e est au sujet de la compensation. CFBE a clairement annonc\u00e9 qu\u2019ils ne pr\u00e9voyaient pas de r\u00e9duction au sujet des compensations.<br \/>\nFinalement, comme pour chaque \u00e9v\u00e9nement et opportunit\u00e9, chaque arbitre a besoin d\u2019\u00e9valuer le ratio co\u00fbts\/b\u00e9n\u00e9fices et de d\u00e9cider pour soi-m\u00eame. Nous attendons des arbitres qu\u2019ils choisissent de d\u00e9dier leurs disponibilit\u00e9s aux \u00e9v\u00e9nements qu\u2019ils estiment les plus rentables, et qu\u2019ils reconnaissent que les Grand Prix ne sont pas les seuls \u00e9v\u00e9nements disponibles aux arbitres.<br \/>\n<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Les Grand Prix repr\u00e9sentent des opportunit\u00e9s uniques pour d\u00e9montrer les capacit\u00e9s n\u00e9cessaires pour la progression, comme le Chef d\u2019\u00e9quipe dans le processus de progression pour rejoindre le niveau 3.
