The Exemplar Program has been around for quite a bit now, and we’re happy to see how well it’s functioning. Exemplar is a great way to recognize other Magic Judges for their contributions to the community, and is something that requires your participation to grow as an even better tool!<\/p>\n

The plot<\/strong><\/p>\n

Today we will have a look at the statistics behind Wave 4 for the Europe \u2013 East region. The goal is to understand what use the region makes of the Exemplar Program. This understanding will help us improve and make a better use of this powerful tool, while we drive our efforts in building together our community.<\/p>\n

Here is what Program Coordinator Jason Lems<\/a><\/span><\/span> posted on Facebook last night<\/a>:<\/p>\n

The numbers<\/strong><\/p>\n

The region had previously to Wave 4 a total of 150 judges. These were 115 L1s, 32 L2s, and 3 L3s. We had within the region a total of 308 recognitions available, and the question is, how many did we use?<\/p>\n

We submitted 103 recognitions, which is a 33.4% of the total available. The worldwide average usage of Exemplar slots is 39.1%, so we are not far from the median value, but still we could improve some. Our recommendation here is for everyone L2 or above to put some effort on being observant of exemplary behaviors around us, that we can (and should) recognize.<\/p>\n

It is interesting how of those 103 recognitions 82 went to judges within the region, and the remaining 21 went to judges in other regions. In total the Europe \u2013 East judges received 120 recognitions, so math tells us we received 38 Exemplars from judges of other regions.<\/p>\n

Now, how many judges in the Europe \u2013 East region did receive an Exemplar recognition?<\/p>\n

That\u00a0is 24 L1s, 22 L2s, and 3 L3s. And you’ll ask, what proportion of the region received an Exemplar, and how do we compare with the rest of the world?<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a><\/p>\n

Truth is we did fairly well compared with the rest of the world. Among the judges in the region 21% of the L1s (16% average worldwide)\u00a0and\u00a069% of the L2s (63% average worldwide) were recognized in Wave 4. AND\u00a0HEY LOOK AT THAT, THAT’S ME!<\/p>\n

But, how was the distribution of Exemplars\u00a0per judge levels?<\/p>\n

Unsurprisingly most of the recognitions went to L2s. A total of 28 Exemplars went to L1s in the region, 66 went to L2s, and 26 went to L3s.<\/p>\n

The conclusion<\/strong><\/p>\n

The state of the Exemplar Program in the Europe \u2013 East\u00a0region is strong<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

From the region leadership we would like to encourage you all to engage with your fellow judges and recognize their awesome contributions to the community and to the Judge Program.<\/p>\n
