- Random fact about yourself: I volunteer at a summer camp for kids with Tourette Syndrome for 1 week every summer
- Why did you become a judge?: I’ve always enjoyed helping people and problem solving. I became a judge so that I could help people to better understand the game and to help resolve any problems that occurred.
- What excites you most about this event?: Pretty much everything about this event excites me. If I had to pick one thing it would be that this is my first time working an event bigger than something at my local game store.
- What worries you most about this event?: I worry that I’ll second guess myself on questions I’m sure I know the answer to.
- What are you hoping to learn at this event?: I want to soak up as much knowledge as I possibly can at this event. If I had to pick one thing it would be to further my understanding of how events are run at comp REL through first hand experience.
- Who are your mentors?: Nathaniel Becker and Brandon Largin
- What challenges have you faced or are you facing to become a better judge?: Layers. I’m not sure I’ll ever understand everything I’d like to about layers.
- How have you worked to overcome those challenges?: Lots and lots of study and practice questions.
- What is the best part about your local Magic community?: The best part about my local magic community is that they are like a second family. Everyone knows who everyone is and is willing to help anyone with anything.
- What is your favorite Magic memory?: When I was pretty new to the game I got talked into playing a late night 10 person game of planecahse EDH. It was quite the 3.5 hour game of magic and I’ll never forget it.
