The Judge Foundry Elections Committee has a few updates:
Nominations Closed
Nominations closed for Member of the Board of Directors and Regional Advocate on schedule at the end of the day August 14th, Anywhere on Earth. Thanks to the 20 members who nominated themselves! All of the nominations are now listed on the index page.
Q&A
We asked the candidates for a nomination statement and we asked them a few default questions based on feedback and suggestions from our pre-election RFI. We’re posting those to the candidate pages as we receive them. I encourage the candidates to submit those as soon as possible to help our members decide how to vote!
Note that a few candidates only received the document to submit their Q&A today due to IRL responsibilities in the committee, and some candidates are likely working events this weekend. We’ll put an “updated at” date on the Index page when we update Q&A for any candidate.
Uncontested Races
The following races received one eligible nomination. The Regional Advocate candidates listed below have been deemed “elected by acclamation”. They will take office as part of the same schedule as if they were elected at the Annual Meeting.

Nominations for Multiple Positions
You may wonder what happens if someone runs for more than one position. Someone can not be both a Member of the Board of Directors and a Regional Advocate, so if someone is elected to both positions, they must resign from one before taking office. In this case:
- If they resign as a Director, the remaining Directors-elect will take office, and the vacancy will be filled by re-counting the Ranked Choice ballots as if the resigning director was never a candidate, as described in Bylaw 6.10. If this occurs, the outcome of the recount may not be known during the Annual Meeting.
- If they resign as a Regional Advocate, that vacancy will be filled by re-counting the ballots for that Regional Advocate race if there is another eligible candidate. If all candidates for a particular region withdraw or resign, the position will be considered vacant and may be filled by special election.
Eligible Voter List
The Record Date for the Annual Meeting is today, which is the day that membership status is officially checked to create the list of eligible voters. Please see the first post in this JudgeApps thread to find a link to verify your status.
