{"id":279,"date":"2014-01-31T16:43:12","date_gmt":"2014-01-31T16:43:12","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/blogs.magicjudges.org\/judgeapps\/?p=279"},"modified":"2018-02-14T14:25:38","modified_gmt":"2018-02-14T14:25:38","slug":"goodbye-private-messages-hello-email","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blogs.magicjudges.org\/judgeapps\/2014\/01\/31\/goodbye-private-messages-hello-email\/","title":{"rendered":"Goodbye Private Messages &#8211; Hello Email!"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>We&#8217;ve just unleashed a significant feature change to <a href=\"http:\/\/apps.magicjudges.org\" target=\"_blank\">JudgeApps<\/a>: we&#8217;ve replaced the Private Message system with a Judge-Center-like Email Form.<\/p>\n<p><img  style='float:right'  class='lems-mtg-cardimg' src='http:\/\/gatherer.wizards.com\/Handlers\/Image.ashx?size=small&type=card&name=Courier Hawk'><\/p>\n<p>It works in basically the same way as <a href=\"http:\/\/judge.wizards.com\" target=\"_blank\">Judge Center<\/a>: Any links to send a Private Message have been replaced by a link to Send Email, where you&#8217;ll be presented with a basic form.\u00a0 Submitting the form will email the recipient your message from your JudgeApps-registered email, making it very easy for the recipient to respond to you.\u00a0 (Additionally, the message won&#8217;t contain a bunch of extraneous HTML!)\u00a0 The recipient will see your email address, but you won&#8217;t see the recipient&#8217;s email address unless they reply to you.<\/p>\n<p>When you send a message through the form, you&#8217;ll also be sent a receipt of the message you sent.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Private Messages that you&#8217;ve sent or received on JudgeApps will be available on the server until March 1, 2014.\u00a0 After this date, they will be permanently deleted.<\/strong>\u00a0 This means that if you have content in your private messages, you should find another place to save that information soon. \ud83d\ude42<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>I&#8217;m REALLY excited about this improvement.\u00a0 I&#8217;d like to thank <span class='judge-tooltip'><a href='https:\/\/apps.magicjudges.org\/judges\/dci\/1206787947' >Brenton Kollinger<\/a><span class='avatar'><img width='200' height='200' src='https:\/\/apps.magicjudges.org\/dci\/avatar?dci=1206787947&size=200'><\/span><\/span> for laying the groundwork for us, and <span class='judge-tooltip'><a href='https:\/\/apps.magicjudges.org\/judges\/dci\/1208473485' >Carsten Haese<\/a><span class='avatar'><img width='200' height='200' src='https:\/\/apps.magicjudges.org\/dci\/avatar?dci=1208473485&size=200'><\/span><\/span> for finishing it up and getting it rolled out.
