New JudgeApps Logo

JudgeApps New Logo

By now, most of you have probably noticed that JudgeApps has a new logo.

Why a new logo? What was wrong with the normal “Magic Judge” logo?

The main reason for replacing the “Magic Judge” logo with one custom to JudgeApps is that users should be able to expect consistent behavior from clicking on a logo.  We have LOTS of different websites, and if they all used the same logo, you’d end up with lots of different behaviors when clicking on them.  I don’t want clicking on the “Magic Judge” logo on one site to be different from clicking on it on another site.

What IS the new logo?

It’s a little bit abstract, but if you look closely (with an open mind), you can make out a “J A” for JudgeApps.  You’ll also probably recognize the color scheme as from the official “Magic” logo.

Who made it?

A group of judges who enjoy graphic design threw some ideas around, brainstormed, critiqued, and ultimately ended up here. (I’ll take credit/blame for the color scheme.)

By far, though, a bulk of the credit goes to Konrad Wieczorak.  Konrad is a graphic designer from Warsaw, Poland and can be reached at http://www.kworkshop.eu/
