Summertime, and the mana’s easy …

Welcome back, friends, to another volume of the Mid-Atlantic Monthly. I hope this update finds you all rested and relaxed as we turn the corner into summer.

Regional Coordinator Conference – Tell Me Your Thoughts

Next month, I’ll be in Seattle for the Regional Coordinator conference. On Saturday, we’ll discuss the various challenges and opportunities in front of the RC community, and on Sunday, we’re meeting with the folks at Channel Fireball Events to talk about organized play. If you have questions or concerns you’d like me to bring to the table, please feel free to contact me privately, and I’ll do my best to find answers for you.

Another Reminder About Testing

With Judge Center currently down, we do not currently have a public-facing resource for judge exams. If you are an L2 in need of an L1 exam, or an L3 (or L2 Tester) in need of an L2 exam, please feel free to contact me, and I will provide you with a PDF copy of the exam you need. I also have copies of the L2 Practice and L3 Assessment exams available for those who need them (but not, unfortunately, the L1 Practice exam). Thank you for your patience as we move forward!

The Q&E Awards: June Edition

The June receipient of the Q&E Award, as selected by Liz Richardson, is somebody known to many of you. Liz spoke positively of this judge’s composure and poise in the face of utter disaster, and also praised his prowess as a scorekeeper. I agree with all these things – Matt Braddock is a model of composure, and he’s an awesome scorekeeper. What you might not also know about Matt is that he’s also a great community organizer whose efforts have raised up the judge community in his area. I couldn’t be luckier to have such an outstanding judge in our region. Congratulations, Matt!
