Judging can be hard, and with a region as large as ours it can be difficult to find a judge nearby with the ability to mentor you. Hopefully those days in our region are nearing an end with the launch of our new project to help pair L2 mentors with L1 judges who are working on leveling up. Not only does this help the L1 judges in our community, but it also gives our L2 judges the opportunity to train their skills as mentors and leaders in our community.
Over the course of 12 weeks your mentor will approach you with a different topic every week. These topics will range from different hard rules topics to the IPG, and working with other judges. Our goal is to help ensure that every L1 in our region has the information and support that they need in order to not only succeed when taking the L2 advancement test, but to be able to feel comfortable running events like PPTQs and work on a team at Grand Prixs.
I would love to give you a bunch more information here, but that would spoil the conference! I will be giving a talk on this project in a few weeks in Oslo.
