Meet the crew behind the L2 Mentoring Project

The L2 Mentoring Project is now live and with several candidates in progress already!

If you haven’t heard of this before, our role is to give L1 judges in need of a mentor a chance to practice their skills and knowledge online with us, so that one day they can test for L2. The goal for each candidate is to end up with a review that will show them where they are on that road, and what they need to do to get to L2. This review might even be a L2 Recommendation that can be used in the checklist.

Sounds interesting? You can reach us at NordicL2Mentors@gmail.com!

But who is behind this project? We would like you to meet the crew:

John Eriksson

John Eriksson

Name: John Eriksson
Role: Project manager
Areas of responsibility: Administration, Mentoring, Content Creation, Public Relations

John oversees the whole project and is the judge-to-go-to when someone wants someting done. Besides mentoring others, John is also trying to learn the ins and outs of being a HVAC engineer. Balancing school, a new career and this project is hard work but we have faith in him pulling it off splendidly. We also believe that in a few years John won’t just be going to the gaming venues around the world, he will be designing them as well!

Charlotte Sable

Charlotte Sable

Name: Charlotte Sable
Role: Mentor
Areas of responsibility: Mentoring

Charlotte is an expert mentor and has seen many candidates through the process to L2. Her favourite animal is the Tarpan, and she would absolutely love to headjudge a Chaos Rochester-draft.

Asger Skovbjerg

Asger Skovbjerg

Name: Asger Skovbjerg
Role: Mentor
Areas of responsibility: Mentoring

Asger was one of the few that obtained the L2 Tester certification before it was taken down, and now continues to test and train judges for lvl 2. He is well known in the Judge Community for out-there corner case rules scenarios, but has also presented presentations and jeopardy at several conferences. When he’s not busy trying to break assist or count his Rite of Replication tokens, Asger works in and studies statistics.

Name: Gilbert Hedegaard
Role: Writer of scenarios
Areas of responsibility: Content Creation

Few judges in the North has as much knowledge about rules as Gilbert. Some could even say that he has studied the “art and sciences” of creating rules questions. The scenarios he writes for the candidates to ponder upon is tricky but fair. His favourite pastime is watching movies, studying movies and even writing about movies. Not those blockbuster movies mind you, but classics and movies that you’ve probably haven’t heard of!

Name: Juha Ihonen
Role: Writer of scenarios
Areas of responsibility: Content Creation

Juha has been solving judge quizes since the age of 5. His ability to know exactly what a candidate needs to know is second to none. Juha enjoys eating a sandwich and listens to Alvin and the Chipmunks.

Name: Lars Harald Nordli
Role: Blogger
Areas of responsibility: Public Relations, Mentoring

Lars Harald is the main writer behind this very blog. His ability to write is only surpassed by his appetite for delicious dishes and fine wine. Though his major area of responsibility is Public Relations, Lars Harald has also taken upon himself to mentor a candidate sometime in the future.

Name: Patrik Fridland
Role: General good guy
Areas of responsibility: Administration, Mentoring

Those that don’t know Patrik (without a c) has been blinded by his status as “Super Friendly GP Judge”. On a sunny saturday, Patrik would absolutely love share something good to drink with friends and draft Unstable, if he wasn’t to busy losing in PUBG, and changing diapers.

Name: Aukusti Koivu
Role: Mentor
Areas of responsibility: Mentoring, Content Creation

Aukusti (or Aga for short) is all about ensuring everyone is having the time of their life, be it a frustrated player during a judge call, or other judges goofing around in between. When Aga isn’t pretending to be an NPC on GPs he continues his teddybear quest as a Chemistry instructor/student at the University.

Name: Linda Johansson
Role: Mentor
Areas of responsibility: Mentoring

Linda has been in the judge program since 2014 and her favorite part is of course, being a mentor. She would never say no to a discussion about policy. When she isn’t stressing out over studies and who picks up at kindergarten, she’s also a freelancing artist. You can check out her tokens here.

Now you’ve met the crew behind the L2 Mentoring Project, and you can see that we’re super friendly and just waiting for you to contact us. If you are a L1 and you’ve been thinking about going for L2 soon-ish, please do send us an e-mail so we can start discussions. You can reach us at NordicL2Mentors@gmail.com.
