{"id":1583,"date":"2018-11-14T22:42:48","date_gmt":"2018-11-15T03:42:48","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/blogs.magicjudges.org\/northeast\/?p=1583"},"modified":"2018-11-14T22:42:48","modified_gmt":"2018-11-15T03:42:48","slug":"2018-maintenance","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blogs.magicjudges.org\/northeast\/2018-maintenance\/","title":{"rendered":"2018 Maintenance"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Hey folks!<\/p>\n<p>It\u2019s that time of year again when we check in with all the judges in the region to verify that everyone has kept up with the <a href=\"https:\/\/blogs.magicjudges.org\/o\/judge-levels\/\">maintenance requirements<\/a>. Part of your certification was an agreement to meet specified levels of activity, as outlined below, as well as agreement to adhere to the <a href=\"https:\/\/blogs.magicjudges.org\/conduct\/magic-judge-code\/\">Magic Judge Code<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>So what does this mean for you? All you need to do is fill out <a href=\"https:\/\/docs.google.com\/forms\/d\/e\/1FAIpQLSea27dt8R47KaGbfETaj0dKewplzbFn8xloYGeY9ReU8w5RHg\/viewform\">this google form<\/a> by the end of this year. If you have any questions or do not believe you will be able to complete these requirements by the end of the year, please reach out to me.<\/p>\n<hr>\n<p><strong>Level 1<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>As a Level 1 Judge, you are expected to judge a sanctioned event once every six months, just to make sure you\u2019re keeping your skills sharp. You don\u2019t have to do anything to get this data to me, I\u2019ll get it from JudgeApps and Wizards of the Coast shortly. Just make sure that your name is entered as a judge for at least one event in the second half of the year.<\/p>\n<p>If it turns out that you haven\u2019t had your name attached to any events, I\u2019ll be reaching out to you via your email listed on JudgeApps, so please make sure that is up to date.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Level 2<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>At Level 2, there are three primary requirements for level maintenance:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Judge two Competitive REL events &#8211; All you need to do is include a link to the event from JudgeApps or include a short description of the event. Competitive Rules Enforcement Level is one of the largest distinctions between the expectations of L1 and L2, and this requirement exists to verify that you\u2019re not getting rusty.<\/li>\n<li>Write a review &#8211; This requirement exists to demonstrate your dedication to the greater judge community, in helping others grow and learn. If you haven\u2019t written a review, but believe you have another written work that could fulfill this requirement, please reach out to me about it.<\/li>\n<li>Take a maintenance exam &#8211; This can be taken in the form of a Level 2 Practice Exam on JudgeApps, but a more advanced test, such as a Level 2 Test or Level 3 Practice, is also suitable.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Level 3<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Level 3 judges are evaluated by the Level 3 maintenance project, but you can totally fill out the google form, too. Level 3 judges are expected to fulfill a variety of requirements, including multiple update exams, twelve premier event days, a self-review and six further reviews (or equivalent).<\/p>\n<hr>\n<p>And that\u2019s what\u2019s in store for maintenance!
