{"id":410,"date":"2015-10-09T10:55:50","date_gmt":"2015-10-09T07:55:50","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/blogs.magicjudges.org\/rules\/?page_id=410"},"modified":"2019-07-09T06:39:12","modified_gmt":"2019-07-09T03:39:12","slug":"mtr-appendix-b","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/blogs.magicjudges.org\/rules\/mtr-appendix-b\/","title":{"rendered":"MTR Appendix B \u2014 Time Limits"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"text-align: justify\">The <strong>required<\/strong> minimum time limit for any match is 40 minutes.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">The following time limits are <strong>recommended<\/strong> for each round of a tournament:<\/p>\n<ul style=\"text-align: justify\">\n<li>Constructed and Limited tournaments\u201450 minutes<\/li>\n<li>Single-elimination quarterfinal or semifinal matches\u201490 minutes<\/li>\n<li>Single-elimination final matches\u2014no time limit<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">The following additional time limits are <strong>recommended<\/strong> for Limited tournaments:<\/p>\n<ul style=\"text-align: justify\">\n<li>Sealed Deck\u201420 minutes for deck registration and 30 minutes for deck construction. For Prereleases and sealed deck events that take place on the weekend of a new set release, 15 additional minutes for deck construction is recommended.<\/li>\n<li>Draft\u201425 minutes for deck registration and construction<\/li>\n<li>Team Sealed Deck\u201420 minutes for deck registration and 60 minutes for deck construction. For Team-format sealed deck events that take place on the weekend of a new set release, 15 additional minutes for deck construction is recommended.<\/li>\n<li>Team Draft\u201440 minutes for deck construction and registration<\/li>\n<li>Two-Headed Giant Sealed Deck\u201420 minutes for deck registration and 60 minutes for deck construction. For Two-headed Giant sealed deck events that take place on the weekend of a new set release, 15 additional minutes for deck construction is recommended.<\/li>\n<li>Two-Headed Giant Draft\u201440 minutes for deck construction and registration<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">The Head Judge of the tournament is the final authority on time limits for a tournament. However, any deviation from these recommendations must be announced prior to and during tournament registration.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\"><strong>Magic<\/strong> Premier Tournaments may have different time limits. Each subsequent review period increases by 30 seconds.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\"><strong>Rochester Draft Timing<\/strong><br \/>\nThe review period for a booster after it has been laid out on the table and before the first card is drafted is 20 seconds.
