Simic Charm<\/a> is a neat new card from Gatecrash with a lot of uses; you can pump a creature a la Giant Growth<\/a>, you can bounce a creature, or you can make everything you control Hexproof to mess with your opponent.<\/p>\n So Simic Charm should be a great way to protect your Jace or your Garruk from your opponent’s nonsense, right? Afraid not. While making them hexproof will save your planeswalkers from things like a High Priest of Penance<\/a> or Dreadbore<\/a>, it won’t do much to protect them from damage! As many of you probably know by now, burn doesn’t directly target the planeswalker, it targets the opponent. You then redirect the damage to your opponent’s planeswalker on resolution.
