<\/p>This question cropped up an awful lot once Extort was first spoiled, and even weeks after the release of Gatecrash I still hear it fairly often: Does Extort automatically make a card B\/W for the purposes of color identity? <\/p>\n
The answer to that question is a resounding ‘no’. While a card like Kingpin’s Pet<\/a> will obviously be black and white in Color Identity, the mono-colored Extort cards like Blind Obedience<\/a> are, well, mono-colored as far as the Commander format is concerned. The little hybrid symbol in the reminder text doesn’t count towards color identity, because reminder text has no rules meaning.
