Does it see them dying at the same time? Yes. If <a href=\"https:\/\/blogs.magicjudges.org\/rulestips\/wp-content\/plugins\/lems-mtg-helper\/lems-mtg-helper-cardfinder.php?find=Blood+Artist&width=223&height=310\" class=\"jTip\" name=\"\">Blood Artist<\/a> dies with 3 other creatures to Supreme Verdict, for example, the Artist will trigger for all the creatures that died.<\/p>\n<p>Why does this work? It&#8217;s because &#8220;leaves the battlefield&#8221; triggers have to &#8220;look back in time,&#8221; so to speak, at the game state immediately <em>before<\/em> an event in order to check whether they should trigger. This is contrary to all the other kinds of triggers, which check the game state immediately <em>after<\/em> an event to check for triggers.<\/p>\n<p>This isn&#8217;t only true for creatures. Anything that looks for permanents leaving the battlefield works the same way. So if you have a single event that destroys <a href=\"https:\/\/blogs.magicjudges.org\/rulestips\/wp-content\/plugins\/lems-mtg-helper\/lems-mtg-helper-cardfinder.php?find=Dark+Prophecy&width=223&height=310\" class=\"jTip\" name=\"\">Dark Prophecy<\/a> at the same time as four creatures, like <a href=\"https:\/\/blogs.magicjudges.org\/rulestips\/wp-content\/plugins\/lems-mtg-helper\/lems-mtg-helper-cardfinder.php?find=Planar+Cleansing&width=223&height=310\" class=\"jTip\" name=\"\">Planar Cleansing<\/a> does, the game looks back to just before the event and sees that there was a Dark Prophecy with a trigger that cared about the creatures that just died at the same time as it was destroyed.
