<\/p>For today’s Tournament Tip, we’re revisiting the world of Missed Triggers with the Trojan — er, Akroan Horse<\/a>. This is one of a few unusual cases of triggers where you can be responsible for a trigger that you didn’t even put into your deck! In the case of the Horse’s first trigger, it’s an ordinary missed trigger controlled by an opponent, which means you don’t have to point it out if you don’t want to (it’s very unlikely that the opponent would ever miss that trigger anyway!).<\/p>\n

However, after your opponent donates Akroan Horse to you, you become responsible for its second triggered ability. The controller of a triggered ability from a permanent is the player under whose control the ability triggered, regardless of who originally owned the card causing the effect to happen. Since you’re the controller, you can’t “forget” about the ability on purpose: doing so is cheating! Regardless of whether your opponent reminds you of the ability, you’ll have to give your opponent a soldier token.<\/p>\n
