<\/p>Since we\u2019re on the topic of odd Modern interactions, let\u2019s propose that a player controls Guile<\/a> and casts Remand<\/a> in an attempt to take an opponent\u2019s spell. Both Remand<\/a> and Guile<\/a> have replacement effects that affect the spell in question, so which effect wins? In short, Guile<\/a>\u2019s effect will override Remand<\/a>, because Remand never actually counters the spell (Guile<\/a> just exiles it). The player controlling Guile<\/a> will exile the spell and be able to cast it without paying for it. Keep in mind, that player must cast it right then; they can’t “hold onto it” to cast it later. If they elect NOT to cast it, they spell just stays in exile. But hey, your Remand<\/a> just turned into the two-mana lovechild of Dismiss<\/a> and Dissipate<\/a>!<\/p>\n
