<\/p>Even more Delve! Yesterday we learned that you can use Delve as a payment for an alternate cost such as Flashback, because Delve is a payment, not an alternate cost itself. So how does Delve interact with additional costs? Well, that depends! If there were a Delve spell with Kicker, you could use Delve to pay the colorless portion of the kicker just fine. If your opponent has out a Thalia, you can Delve away an additional card to cover her ‘tax’ effect (in fact, you can use tax effects to your advantage with Soulflayer<\/a>– more colorless mana to pay for means more potential Delve bodies to boost him up!). However, things such as Mana Leak<\/a> are not a cost paid when casting the spell- by the time your opponent is throwing a Mana Leak at you, your spell is bought and paid for. Delve has done what Delve does. No matter how badly you want to, you can’t just pitch 3 cards from your graveyard to exile to pay for your opponent’s Mana Leak, because that’s not paying for the cost of the spell! <\/p>\n
