  • Why did you become a judge?: I wanted to help to improve the competitive community in my state, as we couldn’t have PPTQs because we were pretty far away from L2s, so i made it my goal.
  • What excites you most about this event?: Being my first event with more than 2 judges, and as regular player of GPs it will be interesting to be on the other side.
  • What worries you most about this event?: That players wouldn’t understand my english.
  • What are you hoping to learn at this event?: Everything i can, but specially how to run events efficiently.
  • Who are your mentors?: Arturo Alvarado and Daniel Lee.
  • What challenges have you faced or are you facing to become a better judge?: Being more serious/”authoritative” when i’m judging events where i knew all the players.
  • How have you worked to overcome those challenges?: Being conscious that i have to act different when i’m a judge than when i’m a player.
  • What is the best part about your local Magic community?: That while being competitive, they are pretty friendly and welcoming of new players.
  • What is your favorite Magic memory?: Representing my country at the World Magic Cup and Top 8ing a GP (I need to make judging memories).

  • Random fact about yourself: I am ranked in the top 5 in slalom waterskiing in the region for my age category.
  • Why did you become a judge?: I became a judge because I was interested in giving deeper into the rules, and soon found I had the ability to help players, but not the certification to back my answers up. Getting my certification showed me to answer questions during weekly tournaments, and give back with the knowledge I had.
  • What excites you most about this event?: I since becoming a judge I’ve wanted to experience judging a large event, so I’m excited for the opportunity.
  • What worries you most about this event?: I’m most worried about my walking stamina. My feet tend to get sore fairly quick
  • What are you hoping to learn at this event?: How judge teams are organized at large events, and whether I would enjoy traveling to Grand Prix in further away locations.
  • Who are your mentors?: Brandon Welch, and Ryan Wood.
  • What is your favorite Magic memory?: For I while I had a 100% game win percentage on mulls to 4 with Tron. They were some of the closest games I played.
