To end our short series of end-of-year summaries, we’d like to get a bit meta and talk about this site. Some of you may know that this site was started in mid 2014, primarily as a resource for judges in the region, distributing information specific to our region such as the list of Area Representatives and other regional resources as well as hosting some regional projects including the L2 pre-interview form and the Welcome Wagon. As some of this information has aged, our team has worked to keep it updated.
More recently, we have started to add more dynamic content. We recently hosted the Area Representatives’ Exemplar Highlights series and some end of year wrap-up articles. Christopher Wendelboe, the newest member of our team, has already written our Introductory Guide to JudgeApps, and he is also planning to start mirroring official announcements and other in-region highlights on a monthly basis starting in February.
And what would a judge project be without numbers? Thanks to wide interest in the Exemplar Highlights series and the important information we host here, we have readers from 32 states and 14 countries. We appreciate your interest in what we’ve done so far, and we’re hoping to keep you informed and entertained throughout the new year. Based on our other readers, you may be interested in these Resources for L1s (and honestly judges of all levels), or these other handy links, which can help you find things like name badges.
So, if you have an idea for an article or series that you think would work well, contact me or one of our other team members – we’re happy to give feedback on drafts or to help you flesh out an idea. We know there are a lot of great judges doing exciting things in our region, and we’re hoping to share that with a region-specific focus.
