Hello, everyone! I got a lot of positive feedback for the last piece I worked so it seems they decided to keep me around a while longer. Better not disappoint, I suppose. Regardless, we’re here with another awesome Exemplar Review from a really awesome judge: Sean Catanese!
Added note, Sean writes too! I’ve actually read some of his stuff before and highly suggest you do too! My favorite articles he’s written are The Value of Timely Reinforcements, and How I Learned to Stop Worrying and Love GP Richmond. So, if you feel like reading a bit more then totally check them out!
Sean is an L3 from the Emerald City, Seattle, Washington not the capital of Oz–although both aren’t in Kansas. He’s been a Magic Judge for almost eight years now! Eight years? Means he started judging around Lorwyn block, heard a lot of people quit the game around that time because Faeries was actually that oppressive. Well, it’s great he “championed” through that! Another pretty rad thing about him is that we’re here right now, partially, because of him! He actually had a hand in the development of our Exemplar Reviews! On top of that he’s worked on the revision of Unsporting Conduct. Sean’s done a lot for our program, and sounds like a real busy guy, being L3 and all–regardless he still took time out of his day to write a pretty awesome review to Christian Aguilar!:
“Christian, you have been a light of positive energy and unabashed welcoming vibes every time our paths have crossed at an event. It doesn’t matter that it’s the end of a long and laborious weekend. It doesn’t matter that the room is noisy and everyone is hungry. You make it nigh impossible for the judges around you to bring you down, and you bring them up with you. I wish more had your seemingly endless positivity on the floor. Thank you.”
Short, sweet, and spectacular! I personally adore how energetic some judges can be, it’s a real testament to how seriously they take the game and their job. Hopefully you enjoyed this review as much as I did! Remember, if you want to be featured on one of these articles all you gotta do is be the best in the world at what you do, and what you do is being you.
