Greetings readers and welcome to another Exemplar Highlights! This week we are going to take a look at a wonderful Exemplar by Jeremy Fain for Megan Hanson.
Jeremy got into the game at Worldwake’s release, and later became a judge so that he could become a positive influence on his community. Providing players with a great environment where they could have fun was, and still is, important to him and was a major contributing factor. Megan has been playing off and on for almost 17 years, getting into the game more seriously around the Shards of Alara block. She became a judge to help out the store she manages, as well as her community, which is one of the things she likes most about the game. Of course, there’s a lot to love about Magic the Gathering and it’s hard to just pick one thing!
Here’s the Exemplar itself:
“In Albuquerque, you put in an insane amount of hours of backbreaking work to help keep Prize Wall and Registration running smoothly. You took on a huge amount of responsibility and handled it all with aplomb. Prize Wall and event registration are two pinch points of player-staff interactions and you went to great lengths to improve the experience for all involved parties. Thank you for your excellent skills in providing an exceptional experience for the players!”
Isn’t that just dandy? Brings a tear to my eye, it’s so lovely. Sometimes hard work and a drive to give something your all can be the difference between an event running smoothly and being a disaster. Megan seems to have contributed to the former as well as made sure the players had a good time; and providing good customer service is something players will remember long after the event is over.
Both Jeremy and Megan have been a prime example of what it means to be exemplary in the judging community.
