It’s that time of year again. As 2019 draws to a close, so ends the most successful year ever for the SCG Tour, and it is already time to look ahead to 2020. Below you will find the full schedule for Season One of the 2020 SCG Tour Keystone Sponsorship. Look for all applications for events through Syracuse to go live on JudgeApps later today (December 5). The rest of Season One will be posted once formats for those events are finalized.
This season we are pleased to welcome the following judges in red for their first Classic Head Judge*:
Joshua Hudson, Scott Markwart, Gary Roland, Vona Rustay, Matthew Westfox, and, Ryan Wood.
This is considerably fewer than last season when we debuted 12 new Classic Head Judges (CHJs). Part of that is the natural wax and wane of the system. After pushing so many talented judges up through the ranks, we are returning to a period of replenishment. We also took a deliberate stance of favoring more experienced CHJs as we explore the Pioneer format, with its broader rules interactions and unknown attendance expectations.
Speaking of red shirts, this season we expanded Open Support Judge applications to Level 2s and we’ve selected the first two judges for this new opportunity:
Matt Karr (Knoxville) and Elliot Raff (Cincinnati)
Both judges have similar profiles with us on the Tour: judging 6+ years, over 40 Tour stops, and double digit times in red. It’s an honor to have them continue to bring their excellent brands of event leadership into this new era.
