More Conferences!

Howdy folks!

As you are likely aware, last weekend marked our USA-South Spring 2019 Judge Conference. A huge thank you to the staff, presenters, and attendees for making that event so much fun. We learned a lot about building a personal brand, and more details from the keynote presentation will be appearing on this blog very soon. If you missed it, or if you’re excited to continue improving as a judge, we have a few upcoming conference opportunities and I’d like to take a minute to highlight each of them here.

May 11
West Texas and New Mexico Mini Conference
Host: Tad Treft If you’re in the western part of our region, here’s your chance to meet up with judges for an afternoon of presentations and networking. L1 Testing will be available and folks will likely be eating dinner afterwards. Currently applications are open for both presenters and attendees.

May 18
San Antonio Conference and Mock Tournament
Host: Kyle Hilliar This event will feature 3 presentations in the morning followed by a lunch break. The afternoon will offer a modern constructed mock tournament giving newer judges the chance to test their skills on live judge calls. Applications are available for presenters, judges of the mock tournament, and judges who want to attend the presentations and play in the tournament.

July 1
USA-South Development Conference
Host: Michael Arrowsmith This specialized conference will be held on the Monday following Magic fest DFW. It targets L2s and L3s with presentations focused on developing advanced skills in logistics and leadership. In-region applicants, especially those pursuing L3 will be prioritized. If that sounds like you, get an application in soon because spaces are limited.

If you’d like to sign up for any of these events, they are all currently open in JudgeApps. If you have questions, please contact the host of the event, myself, or Sheriff Hibbs and we’ll be happy to help.

Additionally, we will be offering a variety of miniconferneces and a large regional conference in the second half of the year. If you have thoughts, ideas, questions, comments, or concerns about conferences, please reach out to me. I’d love to chat about conferences any time!
