Yakup is an L2 from Izmir and is currently the Country Coordinator for Turkey. He started playing in 2004 while still in high school and began organizing tournaments when Izmir’s small community was about to disassemble after his graduation. A short time later he decided to certify as a judge, and since then he’s been a driving force for Magic-related activity throughout Turkey. Rumor has it he became a Magic Judge because he can’t properly play Magic and lost every tournament he joined when he was a player…..

Yakup received 3 nominations in Wave 6, let’s have a look at them.

Yakup, you have traveled a long way to the RPTQ, and we were lucky to have you. The conditions of the tournament were not easy with the venue being in the not very big canteen, but you had maintained a very positive and very professional attitude towards players and judges and me, which helped at least to me to have a fine day. Thanks! [/cets_callout_box]

First of all I need to recognise your courage. In Turkeys conference you attempted you first presentation and you had a hard time with it. Nevertheless you came back 1 year later in the conference in Strugga. You submitted you alpha version of the presentation and after Ivan comments you provided a second version, and the a third and a fourth. At the end your presentation ended up being well structured and people enjoyed it. Thank you for proving to everybody that results come with hard work. [/cets_callout_box]

At last regional conference, I was in a role that was providing feedback to the presenters, before and during the conference. What I found really exemplary how energetically you have been asking for feedback and quickly implemented it. In about a week your presentation turned from “death by text” to engaging. I am so happy to work with people who seek and apply feedback proactively.  [/cets_callout_box]

Congratulations Yakup for your amazing work!
