The Ad Panda plugin allows you to choose from a set of predfined “advertisements” (generally, an image that links somewhere) and place it in your sidebar.

Once enabled, a new widget (“Ad Panda”) will be available on your Widgets screen.  Drag it to a sidebar, and select the ad you want.  If you want to display multiple ads, just drag multiple instances of the sidebar over.
