After receiving approval from Wizards of the Coast the “Europe-Mid-East” region is changing its name officially to “Europe – Central”.

Sebastian Pękala, Level 3 and Regional Coordinator of Europe – Central, explains why this change is happening:

[cets_callout_box style=’gray’ align=’full’ title=”] The old name didn’t reflect how our part of the world is referred to, or how we describe it… Moreover, it was actually confused with another part of the world called Middle East.

Europe – Central, however, is more natural for everyone, while stays in line with the naming convention for multilingual regions. We also hope the new name will strengthen regional identity and make it more “obvious” when new judges ask/are asked about region name.
