John Brian L3

John Brian McCarthy (Virginia, USA) has been promoted to Level 3 at Grand Prix Atlanta.

His Regional Coordinator Nicholas Sabin wrote a few words for him:

For quite some time, John Brian McCarthy has been one of the unsung heroes of the Mid-Atlantic. At the beginning of the year, I set forth a goal that we would have no PPTQ get canceled for lack of an available judge. John Brian was looking for a way to get more involved in the operations of the region, and so I tasked him with leading that initiative. His work has been tenacious and productive, and I can’t imagine the region operating as well as it has without his tireless efforts to link judges with stores.

At events, John Brian is a consummate professional. There isn’t a task that he won’t take on, nor is there a challenge he won’t try to overcome. Fortunately, his knowledge and his work ethic have generally engineered failure out of the equation. This combination of know-how and skill also extends to his local community, where he has been a leader at his local game store, Victory Comics, and has worked to ensure staffing and mentorship opportunities for newer judges in his area.

It is entirely unsurprising to me, then, that John Brian has achieved Level 3 certification. I’m very excited to see what he’ll do with the opportunities and challenges presented to him. Congratulations, John Brian!
