To Brandon Borowicz, L1 from USA – South
Recognized by David Hibbs, L3
Brandon has been working with judges both in his area and across the border in Mexico. Who else does that?! He’s also helped newer TOs get started running PTQs and staffing them, keeping event quality very high and aiming higher. Great Job, Brandon!

I appreciate the way you’ve been going out of your way to work with your RC to help develop the area so that by the end of the year we could have 2 L2s there. Your ideas are always welcome!
To Bryan Prillaman, L3 from USA – South
Recognized by Abe Corson, L3
I choose to recognize Bryan for doing an excellent job leading a project that I’ve been involved with: The Annotated IPG.  Bryan has displayed a level of management and diplomacy that’s been very effective at organizing the efforts of the project members.  I strive to better emulate this style not just in my own project work, but in leadership situations both in judge and “real life” contexts.
To Chris Vlastelica, L2 from USA – South
Recognized by David Hibbs, L3
Chris is a new L2 (congrats, Chris!), but even as an L1 he really stepped up to help Empire Central to run their legacy power series events — helping to plan staff and line up the HJs has been great!
To David Carroll, L2 from USA – South
Recognized by Mitchell Waldbauer, L3
David has been to traveling quite a bit recently to major events. And I keep hearing the same thing from them, “David taught me so much.” David is clearly sharing what he learns with others.

For being a voice of reason and politely calling leadership on their failings.

Hibbs is the paramount of L3 service: mentoring judges, discussing regional issues, taking a stand, helping projects, and making the occasional graph. Helping others is just a natural part of who David is, and his dedication to others is exemplary.

Thank you for being a voice of reason and calm amidst all the recent announcements. In particular I think your posts on Facebook and blog giving some perspective on the history of judge foils helped people see how they’d drifted from their original purpose

At SCG Indy in June you HJ’d an Open. And then you went above and beyond on Sunday, filling an unexpected XO role, lending your experience to help triage and defuse all manner of unbelievably weird stuff, and capped it off with an hours-long incredibly thorough mentoring session.

You provided the voice of reason and a role model when several of our cohort found discretion difficult. You then took it a step further and wrote about it in depth. I’m glad to see you develop an interest in setting a tone among the L3+, and I’m happy to see that tone be so constructive!

For standing up against a crowd who smelled blood in the water, and in so doing remaining polite and respectful towards all involved.

Running the articles project is not easy. He herds cats into editing and manages to post quite a few things with neat formatting — and even helped me out with some of the special judge blog tags while I was working on my last post. Thanks, Evan!

Evan,
I really appreciate the influence your online presence has. In the judge forums you’re consistently a voice of reason, exercising diplomacy when people get too focused on the wrong thing. Your work on the articles project is tireless and judge education is vastly improved as a result.

Evan:
I love the path you took with Judge Articles. You wrote a few yourself and seemed to enjoy it, then put yourself in a position to help others do the same! Under your guidance, the Judge Articles blog is a consistent source of great content.

Thanks for always being a wonderful voice of reason on the forums, Evan! Your posts are always well-thought out and clear. It’s important that judges of all levels participate in the forums and you do a great job of it.
To Jonathan Reasoner, L2 from USA – South
Recognized by David Hibbs, L3
Jonathan has been running classes, teaching judges, and he’s even stepped in to judge events at other stores. He hasn’t been able to travel much, but I think he’s doing great things where he’s at–and I’m thrilled to have him in my area!
To Jonathan Reasoner, L2 from USA – South

Jonathan has much responsibility and limitations on his travel, but continues to be active in mentorship and at multiple stores in his area. Jonathan is exemplary not for teaching leadership whenever he can, but because he integrates his studies of and passion for leadership.
To Joshua Locke, L2 from USA – South

Josh deserves recognition for doing what we tell people not to do, and that is take too much onto themselves. Joshua cares deeply about the program enough to continue to serve it even if he disagrees with the direction it’s going. His quality expectations for the program are truly exceptional.

You went way above and beyond as L1 Coordinator. You were personally involved in a dozen candidates as well as staying in close communication with me. I never had to wonder how you were doing or whether things were going okay.
To Kevin Binswanger, L3 from USA – South

Kevin has been doing great work helping my (first) stint as Judge Manager at an upcoming GP in his region. He has helping me get judges, commenting, and checking in regularly to make sure this event goes well, not just assuming things are doing fine.
To Mike Ames, L2 from USA – South

Mike, it’s not just that you tested a ton of candidates this year (most of whom passed). It’s that you went out of your way to rotate them through and train them as a group. It’s also worth noting that you also did it by communicating with your RC.

Trevor,

We’ve been through a ton together over the years and I’m consistently impressed by your progress. I know it’s frustrating waiting for others to catch up to what I see, but I hope this helps keep you motivated to succeed!

Trevor, you don’t give up. Ever. Your doggedness is inspiring. The way you’ve used the judge program for personal growth, benefiting your local community and yourself, is awesome. And you’ve grown the judge program while doing it.
