Abe,
The level of involvement with the East Coast community that you demonstrated at the SCG Invi was impressive. Also, you cared so much about the judges, the event, and helped so much with the preparation that I don’t think I could have done such a good job without you. Thanks!

Bet you think I’m recognizing you for the Trigger Project. Nah (though it’s great work). I want to highlight your approach to feedback, which has been the best for L2 TL evaluation that I’ve seen yet. Everyone should follow your example!

Brian was a breath of fresh air at GP DC.   He was fun and engaging the whole weekend, providing excellent customer service and support of his team mates. In one instance, Brian improved the entire event by suggesting a better way to number the Day 2 draft tables.

Liz,

At GP Baltimore, your energy and enthusiasm was incredible. You took a position that you weren’t thrilled about, and you still rocked it out. You’re a great example of how judges should interact with players!

Some people, faced with a cancelled flight, might cancel on an event. You didn’t. Instead, you just busted your butt and drove 12 hours to make an event in St. Louis that desperately needed experienced judges, and once you arrived you were an absolute rock on the floor.
To Jared Sylva, L4 from USA – Midatlantic

There are many (many!) reasons to recognize Jared, but the thing that strikes me the most is his unrivaled ability to “make a tournament go.”  Be it planning the entire thing, head judging, leading a team, or even just floor judging, Jared’s involvement practically guarantees a smooth and well-run event.  Jared is more than one of the program’s best judges- he’s also one of the program’s best TOs.

I appreciate the time and effort you put into this. We’ve had discussions off the books, on the books, and far past the time of day that would be reasonable to expect to take a chat. The chats we’ve had were informative, honest, well thought out, and made me question my involvement a lot less.

Thank you for running an Investigations seminar. Investigations are something that need a lot of practice, and you made it available in a safe environment. You also pointed out what each judge should work on, which is pretty hard to figure out without being observed.

Josh.

I wanted you to know that I appreciated the message you put out to judges about cover letters. It is an often overlooked part of the application and I felt that your initial post, along with your follow ups in the comments did a great job of presenting why cover letters are important.
