JudgeApps Updates – June 1-15

The first half of June was pretty uneventful, but we did do a few things!  Well, mostly Dan Collins did a few things.

Features and New Additions

  • Events in your secondary regions now show up on your Events with Upcoming Application Deadlines section on the home landing page after login.

Bug Fixes and Backend

  • A small bug for self-reviews required you to enter a subject, but showed you a form without a subject field available (since it’s a self-review, crazy stuff). This bug is now fixed, no more subject field required!
  • Special forum access for specific types of users was reconfigured – ie, GP Twitter team can post in all GP forums based on the “event type” now.
  • The word ‘subject’ can be ambiguous when translating to other languages, so we added contextual markers around the website for translation purposes. For example, this allows the volunteers who translate the site to use a different word for the subject of a forum thread, than for the recipient of an Exemplar nomination.
  • We recently changed from building the CSV for Exemplars every time someone downloaded them, to building them once and saving them on the server. But  the script that built them wasn’t updated to include Wave 9. So that meant when Exemplar Wave 9 was released, the CSV containing the Exemplar Nominations was blank. Oops.  We fixed that.
