You won the die roll and have the choice to play or draw in the first game of your match. Great. There are a few details about the play/draw rule you may not know, however.
The player with the choice to play or draw can announce his or her intent at any time between the end of the previous game up to when that player looks at his or her first seven cards. If no choice is announced and the player looks at his or her first seven cards, that player has chosen to play first.
Just to reiterate: If the choice to play or draw isn’t announced before the player making the choice looks at his or her first hand, that player has chosen to play.
The loser of each game has the choice to play or draw in the next game. In the case of a draw, the choice remains with the player who chose for the drawn game. (If a game is restarted with Karn Liberated, Karn’s controller is on the play.)
