A somewhat common combat requirement is the one that appears on Prized Unicorn, which requires that all creatures that are able to block it must do so. This ability has appeared on many green creatures over the years. So what happens when two or more creatures with this ability attacks at the same time?
As mentioned yesterday when dealing with requirements you need to abide by as many as possible. If two creatures with the requirement that they be blocked by all potential creatures attacks, unless all potential blocking creatures can block multiple creatures then it would be impossible to satisfy these requirements completely. In these instances you do as much as possible, and sometimes this can give you options.
Let’s start out with a simple example with two attacking Prized Unicorns. Each of the creatures that are controlled by the defending player would have to block one or the other. If an individual creature can block more than one creature, if a creature were equipped with an Echo Circlet, then it would be able and have to block both.
If one of these Unicorns was enchanted by Flight and had flying, then blocking creatures with flying could block either one of these attacking creatures. But those without flying would only be able to block the non-flying one. However a Skywinder Drake would only be able to block the flying one, due to its combat restriction.
