This one is actually a little close-to-home for me, because I have a few friends who are somewhat disabled. For them, getting up and fighting the crowds to get to the pairings each round, then fighting the crowd to get back to a specific table is almost impossible, or extremely painful.
So, if you have such a disability, what do you do? You talk to the tournament officials! Preferably ahead of time; giving us a heads-up will make it easier on everyone, but even if we don’t find out until ten minutes before round 1, we’ll do everything we can to accommodate you. And the easiest way we’ll do that is by giving you a fixed seat; rather than have you get up to find your pairings each round, and then find your seat, we’ll stick you at a table, and keep you there. You’ll ALWAYS play at that table, and your opponents will come to you. And don’t think you’re being a burden, or making our lives hard. It’s not even remotely difficult to set up, and the whole point of a Magic tournament is to enjoy yourself. If we can do something as simple as this to help you out, we’ll be glad to.
