Whenever a creature dies, the game has to “look back in time” to see if any leaves-the-battlefield abilities triggered. Sometimes you’ll have an instance where multiple creatures die at the same time; when this occurs, all of them will “see” each other leave the battlefield. This can allow a creature like Requiem Angel to trigger multiple times when it dies at the same time as a bunch of other creatures.
So, for instance, if you control a Requiem Angel and two Doomed Travelers, and your opponent casts Day of Judgment, you’ll get four Spirits: one for each of the Travelers’ own death triggers, and two from the Requiem Angel’s triggers (one for each Traveler that died along with the Angel).
