Make your opponents Glimpse the Sun God before you crush them.

[expand title=”Click here for a flavorful description!”]So you wish to join Elspeth as one of the Sun’s Chosen. As one of the few, you have been selected to undergo a trial. Only the most wise may earn the honor of being chosen by the Sun God.

There are many ways to impress Heliod, but among the best is to help him with his Vanity. We all know he loves Devotion, so, as good champions for his cause, we should indulge him.

One such way is to request Heliod’s help in combat. After you attack with your creatures, especially heroic fighters, you should invoke the name of Heliod. Beseech that he may look upon the battle so both your creatures and those of your adversaries may Glimpse the Sun God.

All creatures will submit, being tapped down due to the awe of the mighty Heliod. However, your creatures will still be attacking. What is even more important is that this glimpse will instill valor in your creatures making them commit heroic feats of bravery and courage. As your creatures get stronger, your opponent’s creatures shall tremble and fall, blinded by the power of the mighty God of the Sun.

Only then will your adversaries rue the day. May you enjoy the spoils of victory. Do not forget however your devotion to Heliod, for without it, no such victory could have occurred.

For all you non-Theros inhabitants, we have taken the time to translate this parable into layman’s terms.[/expand]

If you attack with a heroic creature(s), you can indicate that you wish to use your priority after you declare attackers, before blockers are declared. You may then cast Glimpse the Sun God to tap down as many creatures as you can. Your attacking creatures that are already tapped will not see the downside of being tapped, and will continue attacking normally. This will, however, trigger heroic abilities of those attacking creatures, and those abilities will resolve before you get to combat damage or even blockers. At the same time, you also target those pesky creatures your opponent controls so they can’t block. Not only will you get maximum value out of your spell, but your opponents will have quite an issue, with almost nothing standing in the way of your attackers.
