Today’s tip is going to hopefully prevent some ugly misunderstandings for you guys! Sometimes, draws are going to happen. They might be intentional draws (such as those to lock in a Top 8 spot, or with a friend so you can both go get lunch!), or they might be unintentional (the round goes to time and neither of you wins game 3!), but they’ll happen. The important thing is that you need to report what actually happened. What some players might do (especially in the case of an unintentional draw, where they feel like there ‘should’ be a winner) is figure out a winner because they don’t want the match to be a draw. They might look at the next few cards to see how the game would have turned out. Don’t do that! You’re allotted a specific amount of time to complete your games. If there wasn’t a clear winner in that time frame, then you’ve got a draw on your hands. Report what actually happened, wish your opponent good luck and a great day, and collect your things. Don’t tempt fate by making it look like you’re looking for evidence to show who would’ve won. Take the draw!
