What Outside Assistance is.

Outside Assistance is when a player, spectator or anyone involved in a tournament either either attempts to get information that is normally hidden, asks others for strategy advice, gives strategy advice or uses notes from outside a match during a game in a match. This is obviously a serious infraction and a match loss is the appropriate penalty.

Examples of a player seeking information or strategy advice would be when:

* A player attempts to peek at cards during a draft.

* A player asks a spectator or anyone else for advice on what to play, build a deck or information about his opponent’s hand.

* Spectators can commit this infraction if they offer advice to players in a game. If a spectator is also a player in the event, the match loss penalty will be applied to that spectator’s next match. If a player received unsolicited advice the player will not receive any penalty.

* A player using notes during a game that were not taken during the match or uses notes that were handed to him from someone else outside the match.
