Trostani, Selesnya’s Voice loves to gain you life. Sometimes its good to get a nice big creature popping into play to get you a good life swing. If you find yourself mid-game with some creatures already in the graveyard, you can utilize the stack to your benefit to get the maximum life from your Trostani. My favorite card to pair with Trostani is Scavenging Ooze. After you cast the Scavenging Ooze and it resolves, the Trostani trigger goes on the stack. Before letting it resolve, respond to it by eating all the dead critters you can with the Ooze. Once all the +1/+1 counters get dropped on your Ooze, you can let Trostani’s ability resolve, and you get even more life for you now bigger Ooze (since Trostani’s ability only checks toughness as her ability resolves), not to mention the 1 life for each critter your Ooze snacked on. If you really want to start having a field day, throw in an Archangel of Thune, and every time you scavenge, not only will your Ooze get a +1/+1 counter, your whole team will!
