No judgment hits in standard quite like that of Avacyn’s. At the low cost of 1R you are able to potentially 2 for 1 your opponent or better. But how many creatures can you target? That depends! If you are casting it from your hand normally, you can choose up to two different targets, and each of those must be assigned one damage. If you are casting it for its Madness cost, then the sky’s the limit… kinda. Whatever you pay for X is potentially how many different targets you can have, pending each is assigned at least one damage. Importantly, this means you can’t target all your creatures, assigning zero damage, just to trigger your
Silverfur Partisan!
Also note, if for some reason one of the targets becomes illegal, fear not, the judgment will still come down on the rest of the legal targets. Not even planeswalkers are safe! Should you choose, you can redirect the total amount of damage you sent at your opponent right to their walker (you can’t choose the player and the walker as targets, though). Bring down the wrath with this one and go get some card advantage!
