The exiled zone is a public zone. Cards in public zones can be viewed at any time by any player unless they are specifically placed there face-down.
Thanks to this, it is not necessary for Distant Memories to instruct you to reveal the card; the card is automatically visible to all players. Hence, you cannot bluff with Distant Memories.
Note that Clone Shell works differently. Because it specifically states to exile the chosen card face down, your opponent cannot look at it. More importantly, technically YOU can’t look at it either. Until Clone Shell goes to the graveyard (or the game ends), the card is face-down in the exile zone, and the card text of Clone Shell does not provide a clause to allow peeking.
