First, equip Beetleform Mage with Illusionist’s Bracers. Then, activate its ability to give it +2/+2. The Bracers will trigger and let you make a copy of that ability. Even though Beetleform Mage’s ability says “Activate this ability only once each turn,” the copy you get with the Bracers doesn’t count as activating the ability; it’s just put directly onto the stack. Because the activation restriction doesn’t matter once the ability starts to resolve, the Mage will get a total of +4/+4 — not bad for an ability you can only use “once each turn”!
