You can reveal the BFZ “dual lands” for the “Shadow Lands”
Some of you might be sad that we no longer have the Khans “fetchlands” to help us fix and interact with our Battle For Zendikar duals. Fortunately, there is some news that might perk you up a bit when it comes to fixing. The new Shadows Over Innistrad lands only care if the land you reveal is of the type required. Incredibly enough, the BFZ duals HAVE 2 basic land types each. This means you are able to reveal one of them that matches the required type in order to have your SOI land come into play untapped. For example, you can play Port Town, revealing Canopy Vista, because it is a plains (also forest), so Port Town enters untapped! This might work out well when you have a hand that has to play lands on curve and they need to come into play untapped early in the game. Just be sure you realize that lands only get the basic land types from their type line… simply having the ability to tap for white or green mana doesn’t make a land a plains or forest (e.g., Port Town is neither plains nor island). Happy fixing!
