As you may already know, when you cast a spell with rebound from your hand, as it resolves, instead of going to the graveyard (the final part of a spell’s resolution by default), it’s exiled instead and you can cast it on your next upkeep. Soulfire Grand Master introduces a new wrinkle into that: when you activate her ability, the next spell you cast from your hand will be “bought back” to your hand instead of going to the graveyard — the same time that the rebound ability would exile it. So what happens? Since both of these are replacement effects, the affected object’s controller (that’s you) gets to choose which one, and only one, to happen. If you return it to your hand, you lose out on the rebound effect, but can potentially cast it as many times as you want. If you rebound it, you get to cast it for free on your next upkeep, but since it wasn’t cast from your hand, that’s the last time you’ll be able to cast it — the Grand Master won’t help you on the second go-around.
